Breast Surgery

The breast is one of two prominences located on the upper ventral region of the torso of primates. In females, it serves as the mammary gland , which produces and secretes milk to feed infants Both females and males develop breasts from the same embryological tissues. Complications of implants may include breast pain, , skin changes, infection, rupture, and a fluid collection around the breast. There are four general types of breast implants, defined by their filler material:
• saline solution
 • silicone gel
• structured and
• composite filler

Breast surgery is also known as augmentation mammoplasty Or breast augmentation.

Reasons for breast augmentation include:-
• Enlarge breasts that are naturally small.
• Restore breast size and shape after pregnancy, weight loss or breastfeeding.
• Restore symmetry when the breasts are asymmetrical.
• Restore the breast or breasts after surgery.
• In some cases breast augmentation is also done in breast cancer.
• Youthful appearance
• Asymmetry of breasts size

Risk factors after breasts surgery :-

• Bleeding
• Infection
• Collection of fluid at the operative site
• Pain
• Permanent scarring
• Loss of or altered sensation in the chest and reconstructed breasts
• Wound healing problems
• Arm swelling (lymphedema)
• Risks related to the medicine (anaesthesia) used to put you in a sleep-like state during surgery, such as confusion, muscle aches and vomiting
